ABOUT OUR BELIEFS
Pastors Rick & Virginia Burcham
We believe in God, the Creator of the Universe, personified in three persons – God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. God is all-powerful, all-knowing, and ever-present. (Genesis 1:1; Matthew 28: 19-20)
We believe in Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was crucified and resurrected for the forgiveness of the sins of mankind. As we confess and repent of our sins and make Christ Lord of our lives, we are reconciled to God and become children of God. (John 1:1-4, 14; Colossians 2:9; Romans 10:9-10)
We believe in God, the Holy Spirit. It is the Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead. He convicts the world of sin and draws us to the Father. He leads us to truth; counsels us, comforts us and empowers us as witnesses. We believe in a Baptism of Power in the Holy Spirit which is a source of gifts to every believer and produces fruit as a by-product of a Spirit-filled life. (John 16:8; Acts 2: 1-4; 1 Cor. 12:13; Gal. 5: 22-25)
We believe in the Word of God, the Bible. The Bible is infallible and the authoritative rule of faith and conduct for all humanity. All scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. (2 Timothy 3: 15-17; Heb. 4: 12-13; 2 Peter 1: 3-4)
We believe in Salvation. Because of our sinful condition we are separated from God. That separation can only be bridged through faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Salvation is a walk or journey of faith, not a one-time experience. It is available to anyone who sincerely calls upon the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 10: 9-10)
We believe in the power of prayer. Jesus was a man of prayer and teaches that we should be the same. The early church – and the church today – raise their voices in prayer to God. We believe that God still answers prayer for healings, miracles and signs in the wonderful name of Jesus. (Acts 4: 22-31; 1 Thes. 5:16-18; Matt. 6: 9-13)
